katiebear21 0 #3 February 23, 2005 You MUST take her to the Green Iguana... I went to the one on Westshore Drive at least one a week! Katie Get your PMS glass necklace here
craichead 0 #4 February 23, 2005 There's a fun little greek village in Tarpon Springs. They carry on the tradition of sponge diving there. Pretty good for its kitsch tourist value. I don't know if it's still there, but there's a sponge museum that shows a great diorama of a sponge dive gone horribly wrong! skymama 37 #5 February 23, 2005 Ybor City near Tampa is a Cuban area and has a great restaurant called the Colombian that you should try out. Tampa has a nice aquarium and a shopping area called Hyde Park that is nice to stroll around, although it's pricy. Clearwater Beach has been voted amongst the most beautiful in the country with sand like baby powder. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
beezyshaw 0 #6 February 23, 2005 Go to Frenchy's restaurant on Clearwater Beach and be prepared for the best damn blackened grouper sandwich you'll ever eat. Another good place for shops and restaurants is John's Pass down near Treasure Island.
Stacy 0 #7 February 23, 2005 I think Andrea means "THe Colombia" It's fantastic. Best Sangria I've ever had.

skymama 37 #9 February 23, 2005 QuoteI think Andrea means "THe Colombia" Yeah, that too. I must have had too much Sangria to remember the name. Brains 2 #10 February 23, 2005 I'll throw a third vote for eating at the Columbia. Family owned restaurant from WAY back. They have spanish flamenco dancers some nights. Great place to eat. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
freeflycracker 0 #11 February 23, 2005 Ybor is a great place. DO NOT feed the pelicans on pier 60 in Clearwater. If they see you buy the fish, its a scene from "The Birds".
flyhi 24 #12 February 23, 2005 QuoteThere's a fun little greek village in Tarpon Springs. Go hungry! Some of the best pastries you can imagine. I guess the food in general is good, too, but go for the sponges, and stay for the desserts.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. Jib 0 #13 February 24, 2005 For a pricy, but awesome dinner: www.bernssteakhouse.com/ Make sure to tour the kitchen and wine cellar after dinner on your way to dessert upstairs! -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. happythoughts 0 #14 February 24, 2005 Ybor in the day and Ybor at night are two very different places. At night, they close the street and it is an overcrowded bar district 7 blocks long. Ya need to know where you are at night. Go with a local friend. Ybor at night has too many power drinkers, friends of modern medicine, and trouble. In Ybor Centro, there is an Improv and a couple of good restaurants - BarleyHoppers is excellent. I would recommend the Tampa - Channelside area. Marriott next to it. Awesome dinner places - "Stumps Supper Club" - casual dining. Dancing - "Howl At The Moon" - 20s/30s crowd, more fun than anywhere in Tampa, live bands, comedians. "Banana Joes" - DJs, dancing, packed to the gills. Tampa - Westshore area - International mall "Kahunaville" - dinner/bar "Blue Martini" - dress up, overpriced drinks. "Cheesecake Factory" - incredible dinners. I would make plans to hit Clearwater beach. Get a motel, stay on the beach, have dinner overlooking the water.
