bch7773 0 #27 February 25, 2005 having a beer or two while alone is ok. Having 3+ drinks while alone, even if you are using a chat room or something, is a little strange. MB 3528, RB 1182

cocheese 0 #29 February 25, 2005 Quotewow the poll is 50/50 never thought it would be so even.Gota admit my question makes you think about it...............I can go weeks without a drink if there is no social reason to drink. But i smoke alone without a second thought. I know people that don't like to smoke alone and i think it's funny.Nothing wrong with a one person party here and there. Cheers.or(cough) eeeerrr. Actually, I think the poll is messed up because half of the people who responded don't seem to understand what the question was. But it is an interesting question... Basically, I think you're less alone than if you weren't chatting online, but more alone than if you were at a bar or a party. Oh, but what about the person who goes to a bar but sits and drinks by themselves? Are they drinking alone? (assuming there are other people in the bar but this person is not conversing with any of them)
Sen.Blutarsky 0 #32 February 25, 2005 My esteemed colleague Ted Kennedy drinks alone all the time* and he seems able to hold onto a responsible position. I think it depends on the person. * really and truly _all_ the time
AggieDave 6 #33 February 25, 2005 I personally don't feel like you're drinking alone if you're chatting with folks online. If you were sitting alone with no contact at all and sharing drinks with your cats watching HSN then yeah, there's a problem.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Peej 0 #35 February 25, 2005 To me there's a difference between drinking alone and getting blind, fall down drunk alone. I'll happily kill two beers in front of the tv or while playing CS online. Same for a whiskey or a Gin and lemonade or something. Getting drunk so that you pass out is another story altogether.
