The Heart of Brady Michaels

Recommended Posts

For those of you who knew him, skydiver and stuntman Brady Michaels (Micheal Brady), this article is amazing. Earlier this year Times Magazine ran an article on his heart recipient, Bill Wohl, who is now an avid sportman and cyclist. A complete life change from the stuck-in-the-rut businessman he used to be.

Take a read of something amazing.

First of all.. its amazing that Brady's heart can live on in another man. And even more reassuring that our hearts are part of our souls, not just the organ that keeps blood pumping through our veins.

We lose so many people we love in this sport.. I'm happy to learn that Brady lives on in someone else.
Its awesome.. in the original meaning.

My sister's daughter had a heart transplant at the age of 10 days old, due to a birth defect in her heart, the Donor heart came from DFW Texas where I live now, my sister lives in St. Louis MO. Her daughter is 14 years old now,
She was able to some how track down the donor family some years ago...they live in very tony / rich area of the town. but she found out that the mother was VERY UPSET when she learned that her husband donated their Childs organs, of the 7 organs donated..by her child.. My sisters child is the only one surviving to this day..my sister had a re-union with the donor family here in Texas few years ago..the mother told her at time of her daughter death, and when she found out her husband donatated her child's organs.. she was VERY UPSET about it, but today it gives her peace.. and she’s the local volunteer co-coordinator for the Midwest organ transplant assoc.

If I die they can take anything they want.. except my ears.. they don’t work…

That's great!

I, too, have signed my donor card. Take what they want, then bury the rest. I won't need it.
