What are you looking forward to this jumping season?

Recommended Posts

Usually by the end of a season, I'm ready for a break in skydiving. Also, usually right before the start of the season, I start itching for a jump. I'm really looking forward to this season for many reasons, so I'm just that much more impatient!

So, what are you looking forward to this season? I'm looking forward to the following:
-Jump for the Cause
-A new turbine in the Chicago area http://www.skydivemidwest.com/
-The next big-way camp and 100-ways in Perris
-Midnight volleyball (oh, that's not really a jumping thing, huh?)
-Matty doing some kick ass organizing at Hinckley this season
-SDC's Otters & Spring Expo

Actually being able to afford to jump and have the time to do it are my major goals in the next several months...:SB|...

One goal for the season is:

Actually jump at a DZ in Indiana...:D...I live here and have never jumped here...go figure...

~R+R:)...Everything after that is gravy...

I'm starting competing with the swoopy swoop with the local TX league and I want to be at the point by the fall to be able to go X-braced.

That's my goal for this "season" even though I did a few jumps today and some other on Friday.:D

You sure they are not a skyride site? It looks like they are using a lot of the same pictures... If not then I know a photographer or two that might want to talk to them.

That DZ is not too far from where I currently live.

Let's see...this year...

  • Getting a job
  • Tunnel camp
  • Getting in 150-200 jumps
  • Getting my coach's rating
  • Jumping with friends
  • Maybe attending a boogie or two
  • Living life, being happy, having fun
Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Well... here in Florida, the "jumping season" never really ends. So for the year-plus that I've been actively skydiving, I haven't had to watch it go away for a number of months, like northerners have done. I'm fortunate that way.

But I am looking forward to taking 9 days off (a week of work plus the two surrounding weekends) to head up to another dropzone, hook up with a coach, spend lots of money on jumps, tunnel time, food and fun, and come back a far better skydiver than I am now.

I see video of people doing stuff I cannot do, and realize that even though I can dock with people, and fly a sit, and sometimes stay on my head for a little while (with about 1% control), and can call myself a "competent" skydiver, I am not a "GOOD" skydiver yet -- but I will be!

Instruction, study, practice. I need those, and I'm headed out to get them. :)

What's this "season" you speak of? Skydiving is a year round sport. :P

I'm looking forward to downsizing rapidly, hooking it for safety, going crossbraced and laying down a phat dead man across the pond.

Or maybe I'll just get really current, pick up a coaches rating, downsize a little and finally learn to fly head down. In my bitchin' new Bomber Freefly Pants.
