ChasingBlueSky 0 #28 March 1, 2005 QuoteQuoteIn the grand scheme of things which is more important to you, your health or your picture being in the paper? My PICTURE!! Life is short, but print media lives on!!! No, I understand your point. That really is the 'big picture', isn't it? I'm sure you were joking, but not really. I've had my 15 minutes a couple times over: My picture on the front page in the majority of the Chicago newspapers, talk radio persona, rubbing elbows with big names, groupies, radio dj, news reporter, etc. It all fades quick and no one remembers or cares afterwards. I choose to push my public image over my health and it was a mistake in the long run that I regret to this day. I did damage to my vocal cords and stomach during those years which flares up from time to time and interupts my life now._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Eesh, I have to respond to this one real quick... My doc is an excellent doc. She gave me Zithro first because that was the course that worked for the majority of patients with similar symptoms. She fully explained that we would take the next step i it didn't work...which is my bad. She told me to come in last week if I wasn't doing better, and truly, I couldn't get in last week. There was too much to be done, so I am going in today. She explained that she felt that I may have waited too long to see her in the first place and that I may have developed pneumonia. We tried the Zithro to see if it was what other patients were coming in with; it is not. Now we're on the in-depth search. She was trying to fit my treatment to me, and take the least level of intervention necessary (which good docs do!) I am totally with ya man on no antibiotics unless necessary especially for children...antibiotics, by nature, weaken your immune system when you take them. (Kinda cool to be a pharmacist's kid sometimes ). I'm out. Please don't worry guys, I asked for your opinions as I know that sometimes I'm a little too impulsive/stubborn/red-headed to see all of the details. This whole thread really has helped out, but I'm going to get that x-ray just to prove that I'm Ok. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. karenmeal 0 #31 March 1, 2005 Jaye, three things: First, I hope you get better real soon and we can all quit worrying about you. Second, I could possibly be convinced to put on a curly auburn colored wig to wear around the dz this weekend pretending that I am you for the sake of the paper lady. I will blink my eyes lots, smile and act all cute and innocent. I will then go out and swoop her camera sticking my tongue out and doing the shocker.. (Still pretending to be you.) If you would like, I would be willing to make these sacrifices for you. -Karen "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

You could die jumping out of a plane too, Slappie. -But I hope you don't!! Naw, I just had my chest x-ray done, & I'm sure it had to be clear. The x-ray tech said my doc would get the results in 3-4 days. DAYS. She couldn't have seen anything glaringly wrong and say the doc won't see it for several days. Besides, I saw the x-rays as I was walking out...looks like regular ole' lungs to me. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #40 March 3, 2005 Chest x-ray came back beautiful!!! The photo thingy will be next week anyhoo, that's what the reporter girl said. So sorry Karen, I will not need your defamation of character through impersonation. I can defile myself next weekend, thank you very much! You'll be able to pick me out of the crowd, I'll be the one with the Bud Light can in my chest strap, reciting the lyrics to Godsmack's 'Whatever' and throwing up the horns as I exit.
