DexterBase 1 #1 March 6, 2005 I was just outside and it's not light out yet. The sun is going to rise in a little while but the horizon is still dark. The birds have just started to sing. How do they know it's about to get light? Do they have super-awesome time telling abilities? Do they sense a shift in temperature that hints the sun is about to rise? (This doesn't make any sense to me because it is usually coldest in the time before sunrise) How do they know?

dzdiva 7 #3 March 6, 2005 I don't have an answer to your question, but I love to wake up to that. In the summer when I sleep with my window open, I usually wake up just before dawn...it's nice to lay there in bed and listen to that."It's not just a daydream if you choose to make it your life..." eeneR 3 #6 March 6, 2005 It ias actually beautiful outside right now, skies are clear....sun is out. Going to be near 50 here today (for march in chicago that is a beautiful thing) I might have to throw the gear in the car and make the 2.5+ hour drive to the nearest cessna. Course have to check the winds though... they are a lil squirly here. She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

DickMcMahon 0 #18 March 7, 2005 In suburban London this time of year, the birds are very loud in the morning. People refer to it as the “morning chorus”. Buried within the sounds you can hear a “cuckoo” every now and then, which leads me to believe that’s how they know what time it is to start the concert. They have cuckoo clocks!
