How to copyright and sell tshirt? (Not kidding)

Recommended Posts

Okay, seriously, as dumb as this sounds, it's not a joke. I have a tshirt that I want to copyright or trademark and then sell to a major retailer......(it'll sell like f'in hotcakes to the Hot Topic crowd....).....anyone know how I would go about doing this?

Hey, it's worth a shot just to see one kid walking around in this thing, and I might makea whopping 5 bucks off of it, so I can't go wrong, right? B|

And btw, NO it's not my Eeyore idea. :P

You can't really patent a shirt unless its some sort of new/radical design. You can trademark it and copyright it, though.

I'd suggest googling trademark and copyright laws as a start.

You can't copyright or trademark a T-shirt, but you can with a Logo.

Even if you try to trademark your idea for a t-shirt, it can still be copied.

PM me if you want a more indepth answer. I've run the gammet with lawyers, and trademarks, etc.

Can you copyright or trademark a phrase? Basically the t-shirt is an idea of phrase, similar to "shit happens" or "I poke badgers with spoons".
