Rebecca 0 #2 March 8, 2005 Depends on what kind. Some are higher in fat, and some tend to contain higher levels of mercury. One serving a day should be OK though. Anyone with nutrition cred around here? I got none. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

freeflir29 0 #4 March 8, 2005 Well....yes.......depending on what kind. Some are more inclined to retaining things like Mercury and other heavy metals as well as pesticides and such. Also farm raised salmon tends to have MANY times more pollutants in it than wild. There's lots of info out there but I can't remember it all at the moment. You.....being a young HOT chick should be concerned about all that not only for your own health but also if you decide to have puppies. OH CRAP...............was that a serious post? Probably not too good to eat the kind with high Mercury content all the time. That is mainly in the dominant fish...like swordfish, shark, and others. I believe, fish is actually great for your diet because of certain natural oils...anyone know?*** F LORIDA!
PLFXpert 0 #6 March 8, 2005 No way. What's the difference between eating fish everyday and cow or pig? I've eaten vegan (and fish everyday--mostly salmon--some tuna and tilapia) for years now and I couldn't be healthier But I can't officially call myself anything in particular b/c once in a while a girl just needs a a big juicy steak, you know?Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. GTAVercetti 0 #7 March 8, 2005 Quotemy roommate and i have started a lower (not no) carb diet. i think i eat fish almost once a day. is it bad to eat too much fish? The fat in most fish is Omega-3...which is good for you. Fish is a great source of protein as well at this fat. Many cultures eat alot of fish. I cannot see why eating it once a day would be bad.Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
Slappie 9 #8 March 8, 2005 Off topic* turtle you got your signature back!! *Back on topic Alana like Becca said, it really depends on the type of fish and where it was harvested. Some fish contain mercury. To much is bad. A diet of fish isn't a bad thing. Look at alot of the Asian countries, they live on a seafood diet, but they also supliment their diets with high carb things. alanab 0 #9 March 8, 2005 mostly, tuna (usually the canned kind), talapia and salmon. i know salmon has a higher fat content. i thought i heard somewhere that you arent supposed to eat tuna more than once a week.
Muenkel 0 #10 March 8, 2005 Since I am allergic to most seafood, my answer is yes for me. It sucks though, because seafood seems so appetizing to me and at the same time the moment I get a whiff of it; I start to feel queezy. GTAVercetti 0 #12 March 8, 2005 Quotemostly, tuna (usually the canned kind), talapia and salmon. i know salmon has a higher fat content. i thought i heard somewhere that you arent supposed to eat tuna more than once a week. There are concerns over health of unborn babies and Tuna because of mercury. To me, canned tuna is like the carp of the seafood world. Tuna steak is okay on ocassion. Salmon is pretty damn good for you. Fish is often called brain food. It is smart to eat it and good for you. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing. I also take Salmon Oil gel tablets every day for that reason. It keeps your skin/health very young and healthy. Some things are hereditary, but all the women on my mom's side have taken fish-oil and even at close to 90 when my Oma passed on, she didn't have a single wrinkle (no plastic surgery--we're not into it), cellulitle, nothing. I really, really, stand by the claims of eating fish (like salmon) high in Omega-3 fats and oils and taking the supplements. You can avoid the "mercury" thing by just making sure you buy "wild" salmon and buying your fish from the fresh markets.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. alanab 0 #18 March 8, 2005 sweet! it sounds like this is going to work out! we both LOVE fish and every time we make it for dinner or lunch, grilled, on salad, whatever, we are both like "yummmm, this is sooo good". i was just curious as to what effects eating mass ammounts of fish (about once a day) would have on us. guess, that rumor i heard was wrong! yay for fish:) thanks for all your quick help my loves as i sit here eating some tuna! PLFXpert 0 #19 March 8, 2005 No worries! My boy-toy calls me "Salmon head" b/c I literally have it every day. I never get tired of it. I love it--just make it different ways. Sometimes grilled, sometimes baked, sometimes barely seared (if you buy sashimi-grade---tip, if you do, the "previously frozen" is actually what all sushi places use). Sushi is a fantastic option, too. Get the pieces (without the rice--b/c white rice lacks the compenent in all carbs that makes you feel full--that's why people joke after eating Asian food that you're hungry soon after) and mix the wasabi in some soy sauce (I'm also HUGE on the benefits of soy). We get it once a week. It's SOOO good!Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
