TLC The Learning Channel for those who might not know

CLOSE. TLC means The Lady's Channel, since they drifted from learning topics to having a lot of effeminant men redesigning your kitchen.:P

They used to have shows on like "Connections" and "The Day the Universe Changed."

Eitherway I'm gonna watch this episode of While You Were Out, since it sounds fun.:)

Laurel,

I hope the blurb on the TV listings page doesn't indicate the tone of the show:

Quote

Skydiving fanatics have a 1974 aluminum Airstream as their second home that is in desperate need of some attention.

it sounds like a typical whuffo slant.>:(

BTW, this blurb is on all the listings, online and on the descriptions on our digital cable guide.

Any guesses as to how many references will be made to "plummeting toward doom", etc.?

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

How bad could it be?

I said we are on it - we did not edit, produce, direct, etc... it. Just watch it. It will be cute. I am sure many will be commenting on every little skydiving inaccuracy - but remember, this was for FUN not for accuracy. There are fake freefall shots where I don't have goggles on and am talking to the others, just to let everyone know. B|:)

Oh, and because of all the trouble at Gold Coast (the airport people not allowing campers any more) we are selling our Airstream on eBay. Look her up. :)

And once again Dave shows us that he still has it!

That was funny.

Oh wow, I LOVED those two shows...with James Burke! Yes, very disappointing that TLC doesn't show those anymore. >:(

Wow, someone else used to watch those. Yeah, I used to really dig James Burke's shows. His research and presentation was amazing. There truely isn't anything like that on TV anymore.

Funny? I don't know about that but I've always wondered if there were any "strings" attached when you get a bunch of stuff like that for free. Seems to me there ought to be some restrictions about selling it for a profit so soon afterwards.

Try READING my post. We LOST the place where we kept the camper. Due to the loss of our spot, we HAVE to sell it. Jeez people, let up on us.

Hey- I was responding to Skid's post. There are so many of these shows out there now and I was curious if there were any rules or contractual obligations that's all. I guess there aren't. Defensive much?

doubt many if any.

i dont see why they would. they get money and free products from sponsor products and also the advertising space inbetween the show.

Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?
