My New Fast Toy

Recommended Posts

So after wishing for death last weekend when I did a 50 mile bike ride on my mountain bike with our road biking friends I decided to buy the bike I'd been looking at for the last 3 months.

It's a 2003 model and was almost 50% off, how could I say no. ;):D

Took her for a ride tonight and did a ride I've done on my mountain bike and it only took half the time, and the hills were a breeze.

CF front fork and aluminum frame?
Looks very sporty.
One word of caution about the wheels - you may want to consider a pair of "training" wheels. Those things are a pain to keep true if you do a lot of riding.

Yep CF fork and Aluminum alloy frame, it's a racing frame and came with time trial aero bars.

I'll keep in mind about the training wheels, I'm not exactly sure how much day to day riding it will get as the mountain bike is a lot more verstile for quit trips around town.

If its only $800 bucks, consider yourself gettin off light. I will be recieving this beauty after much labor... http://www.softride.com/bike/fastTT.asp Would I ever pay for this bike? Never would be able to......its like 6-8K.:S

Yep I agree if full price is $800 it's a very resonable price for a road bike, check out your LBS (Local Bike Shop) cause ours is always having great sales especially now they they are trying to get rid of thier 2004 and older models. Mine was marked down less than $800 but once you add pedals and a new seat (currently sporting my mountain bike's seat) I'll be over $800 when all is said and done.

Those soft rides look very interesting, I haven't seen any on the roads around here so how do they handle, the same as other road bikes, good climbers, tri's?
