DZ.com Weight Loss Challenge, Week 10

Recommended Posts

Thats a pretty fierce leg routine there :). Definitely the most painful next to shoulders, I usually can't walk for most of the following day :S. My brother is training me hard. We do: Squats, Leg Press, Leg Extensions, Leg Curls, Calf Raises and either sit-ups or leg raises (depending on what we did the day before). 4 sets on each exercise, sometimes five for weak areas.
Have you red "Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding" by Arnie? Its the best info you'll find anywhere. He says to do at least 5 - 8 sets on Squats, Heavy all the way :S:S, F**K THAT. He said that you shouldn't be intimidated by a heavy load and just go for it, even if your a beginner :S:S. Going to attempt to push out 5 - 6 reps of 500 lbs on leg press 2moz :S. I'm GOING TO DIE :D.

Christina...

You can do it - and there's healthy stuff you can eat at restaurants, too.... just plan ahead as much as you can, and maybe keep some healthy snacks in your purse for when you get the mid-day munchies...

Hey Mike, I just wanted to post and say that you and the others are awesome!!! Keep it up. Everyone is that much healthier and that really is the point of it, to be healthier people right?? I work with and train many people who aren't getting the results you all are. (It's inevitable that setbacks can happen but the important thing is you don't let them stop your overall progress.) Take care of yourselves, be healthy and keep up the awesome hard work, I am so proud!! :)
Please feel free to reply to my posts and pm's, but only if you're smart enough to understand what they really mean.

Well, thank you! :$

I think I may be at a bit of a plateau, loss-wise, but I'm not giving up on it....

I'm feeling better overall than I have in years. I just got my blood drawn the other day for my semi annual cholesterol check... I'll post the numbers once they're in.

Now, I just have to get in better shape....

OK, I'm back

Last Friday I broke the barrier! But I wanted to go out and buy a better scale before I posted. I know that's probably over the top as it's just a bloody number but it's one I don't ever remember seeing! I remember a family trip when I was in grade 5, before my parents separated, when I stepped on this big baggage scale in Bimini and the scale said 130 - the same as my mother....the next one I remember is entering grade 7 at over 200 and I've never seen below 170 since....(I don't care what it says on my waiver!)

Then I got so busy at work & forgot about it all until way later when the post was two pages back & I was too shy too bring it forward. Then pretty damn much the same thing happened yesterday but someone else bumped it so here I am!

ANYway, I'm still a little leary of the number because I'm still working stupid hours & haven't been exercising much so I'm afraid of the "muscle & not fat" thing but my clothes are looking a lot different on me!

So! Drum roll please! (sheesh, talk about tooting my own horn!)

185/168/160/17

Now I'm going to haul my lazy ass out of bed (it's past 11am but I needed to lounge) and hit the stairclimber!

So glad you guys are keeping this up!

Hey, congrats!!! That's super news!

We've had a lot of people that haven't updated in weeks...some that haven't updated at all - so no worries, there...

Regardless, I'll keep this thing going as long as there's an interest...

I have a copy of Arnold encyclopedia, I thought every bodybuilder had to own one. I also own a copy of a book by Frank Zane, "Mind, body and spirit. I have a lot of respect for his body type but I would avoid reading his books, as they suck.
If you interested in the origins of bodybuilding, I recomend Sandow the Magnificent.
If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass.
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound.
Nothing to eat, no books to read.
