jjiimmyyt 0 #1 March 14, 2005 So got caught by the cops, over the limit by 3 times, going to lose my license for 18 months at least. Before everyone has a massive go at me, I know i was stupid i know i was dangerous, I know now i cant visit my relatives as much as i would have. In short, I f'ed up, my own fault, don't deserve any sympathy, but I am so pissed off at myself. I'm glad the cops caught me before I had a chance to hurt/kill anyone. i deserve the punishment i'm going to get. But i'm still pissed off. "This isn't an iron lung, people. antifnsocial 0 #4 March 14, 2005 Just glad that like you said, you and no one else was harmed. Glad you're still alive, healthy and smart enough to learn from it all. Take care. Please feel free to reply to my posts and pm's, but only if you're smart enough to understand what they really mean.
flyangel2 2 #5 March 14, 2005 Is this the first time this has happened? Will the judge take into account that it's the first time? jjiimmyyt 0 #6 March 14, 2005 its the first, and the last. In Jersey (Indepedant of UK but affialated) our legal system isn't so fucked you can get a lawyer to argue the charge away (I've seen the adverts in the USA). On Monday afternoon, I will stand up, make my case, which is really none. I will apologise, thank the police that charged me, and take it on the chin like a man. "This isn't an iron lung, people. DrunkMonkey 0 #21 March 14, 2005 I'm guessing this'll cost you in the neighborhood of $7,000, not counting the possibility of probation and/or the hellish insurance premiums you'll be paying. Plus, unless you're in a city with good public transit, commuting to work will suck... But I am glad you did not hurt anyone.

Well, that depends.. I know that in many places you have agreed at some point in your licensing process that you agree to be tested for BAC if requested.. By not allowing your BAC to be tested your license will be automaticly suspended regardless since you are not complying with what you have already agreed to.. It can be just as painful, and they will get the BAC from you eventually anyway (doesnt take them long to get what's required to get evidence these days) . You can however request a blood draw vs. the blow test in most places...... FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't. bob.dino 1 #23 March 14, 2005 Not in the UK. From the UK's Department of Transport: QuoteThe penalty for refusing to provide a specimen of breath, blood or urine for analysis is a maximum 6 months' imprisonment, up to £5000 fine and a driving ban of at least 12 months. Calling a lawyer will get you precisely nowhere.

Depends on where you are. In TN, you consent to a breathalyzer by accepting your drivers license. If you refuse, you will be arrested and fined, I forget how much, but A LOT. More than it would cost to get a DUI. Plus you'll still get a DUI. Its all messed up. edit: OK I didnt read Nate's post before I posted. But he's right! Ncrowe 0 #25 March 14, 2005 The two states I know of were it's better not to blow are Texas and Florida....if you're ever in florida pick up the yellow pages and look at all of the ad's...heck they even have TV commercials for DUI lawyers "Don't Mess Around With the Guy in Shades- Oh No!!!
