vt1977 0 #27 March 15, 2005 1000+ jumps, Spectre 135, loading 1.2ish Just had the Spectre re-lined (with dacron Tony!) because I don't feel the need to downsize and with only 500 jumps on 135s I am nowhere near ready to downsize anyway! Vicki
Deuce 1 #28 March 15, 2005 I originally chose a Spectre cause it was reputed to be a good camera flier parachute, and that was my interest, then and now. Being more lucky than good, I have been able to travel quite a bit to different DZ's and have since learned that you, Gasson, and Finley also jump Spectres and I probably will never catch up to y'all, so I'm done. I downsized to 150's pretty early on, and that's the smallest I can go and consistently land well and accurately at different elevations. I broke an ankle and sprained my knees a couple times getting to this level, and I would have been better off if I had stayed with my 170 a little longer. I think a lot of the downsizing to microhyperperformance canopies is done by folks who need skydiving to be scary again. I'm noticing that many of them are getting that scare, and then backing off to something a little larger and less demanding of total concentration from opening to the canopy being on the ground. And I'm noticing that some of them are getting that scare and then dying moments later.
