Dolphins at the dock

Recommended Posts

What if I jumped in and tried to swim with them ? Would they be cool ? About 10 dolphins including some real little ones were playing just a few feet from a dock i'm near. About 10 feet of water. I don't think it's a good idea to try to swim with mom and her babies, but if anyone knows or thinks it will be ok , i might try it with a swim mask on soon when they come back. Only swam with them in a controlled environment.

Should i jump in ?

Sorry no pics or video .

Probably would be safer if they came to you rather than the other way around. They're curious creatures but are still wild. Remember, those guys have been known to kill things three to four times+ our weight that they have deemed a threat.

You would probably be ok if you started from shore and just casually swam out to the end of the dock, if they didn't like it, they would leave. Just swim slow and act like a manatee.:D:D

Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I've been in the water with wild dolphins before. They didn't mind my being there as long as I didn't try to reach out and touch them. They would swim by me at incredible speed and I could them brush up against my legs. Be careful though, in some places it's illegal to get into the water with them. Of course, they would have to prove that you did it intentionally.
