Anyone seen Garden State??

Recommended Posts

Just finished watching it...

I think it is a good movie, but I dont think it is great. What makes it so great? Did I miss some bigger point?

All I got is that the guy found out what it is like to experience emotions, and didn't want to stop. He wanted to live his life regardless of whether it would hurt or it would be happy. But like he told his dad, doing it that way will make it ok, maybe not as happy as he would have been, but ok.

Good movie though (I liked the infinite abyss analogy), I now know what I should pop in with the girlfriend next time.

I loved it! I need to buy it. For Braff to have written, directed, and starred in his first flick, I think it is phenomenal.

That's 'all' huh? Hmmm.... More than a few movies have been directed at that simple idea, and I think this once clinched for the current generation much better than most.

I think it speaks loads about acceptance, belief, and faith in others and in life.

Yup, saw it months ago when it came out, Definately worth a theatre visit. Natalie Portman and Zach Braff are brilliant. I like the journey that Braff's character is attempting. I also like sitting at home with my avatar and coming up with expressions that no one has ever done before (see movie).

If you are in the mood for something a little more harsh, Closer was incredible too.

Sure, but it's not GREAT like many say. It's simply a cool story of someone coming to a realization about his own life.

That is like saying "Yeah, but that was not yoru best skydive." Everyone has opinions, they are subjective. Some people think that movies about realization are great. What is obvious to one, is an epiphany to another. Discovering life is what makes it interesting. Most humans are drawn to literature and art that they equate with on some level.

it's a chick-flick, but it has a good message if you pay close attention.

I have the proper equipment to be considered a "chick," so I am going to give my 2 cents worth here.

While the story had a good "analogy" and a somewhat thought provoking moral going on, I don't think this comes anywhere close to being considered a "chick flick." The fact that he came back to her instead of flying off and leaving her was the only part I could consider "chick flick" material.

There were some good lines, the abyss idea was cool and a moderate amount of humor. Overall, I actually thought it was sort of stupid, though. Not one of those movies that's going to make me sit and think, "WOW! That was a great movie."

I personally didn't think he was that much of a hottie, either.

Once again....only my personal opinion and probably not worth being taken too much to heart. I am a CRWDOG, you know. What do we know? We intentionally let people put their legs in our lines. :P

Glad i did a search first (:P to Ivan)

I know the movie has been out for a bit, but I saw it for the first time last night and it was awesome.
Just recommend people to see it, and if you don’t like it oh well:)

Absolutely awesome movie. Starts out really slow, but then picks up. Well, I liked it anyway. But then again, I liked The Notebook!!! Actually watched that one without a woman present. Wait, should I admit that in public?
