Girlfalldown 0 #1 March 15, 2005 Sometimes my computer makes weird noises and I don't know what they mean. Like...it goes...ding ding like I got an email but then I look and there is no email. Or it goes spoink but I can't figure out why. Sometimes it makes a boiiiiing sound and it's not like someone's IMing me or something so I just don't get it. What the hells up with that? -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)

Shotgun 1 #4 March 15, 2005 My computer has been making weird noises lately too, not ding dong sounds, but sickly "I'm about to stop working" sounds. It really wants me to take it apart and do things to it, but (as usual) I am ignoring it until it becomes an emergency. I think it is about to start making the sound of a yeti... SkiD_PL8 0 #10 March 16, 2005 Don't worry I highly doubt that is the issue lol. This reminds me of the commercial where the people come in and make the sounds their car is making. Hard to tell without actually hearing the sounds but I would guess it is an IM program making noises when someone logs on/off or you hitting to many keys on the keyboard at one time. flyangel2 2 #13 March 16, 2005 pebkac /peb'kak/ [Abbrev., "Problem Exists Between KeyboardAnd Chair"] Used by support people, particularly at call centers and help desks. Not used with the public. Denotes pilot error as the cause of the crash, especially stupid errors that even a luser could figure out. Very derogatory. Usage: "Did you ever figure out why that guy couldn't print?" "Yeah, he kept cancelling the operation before it could finish. PEBKAC."May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
