USPS Strikes Again!!!!

Recommended Posts

I will not mention any names here for the simple reason that no one is at fault other than the USPS. BUT, I had a package sent from West Palm Beach, FL to Cullman AL and low and behold, the freakin' package is floating around in Missouri somewhere. The reciept from the shipping is supposedly correct but for some reason, the douchebag at the Postal Service decided to screw up the address on the box!!! So now, I am left "RESERVE-LESS"!!!!! If it weren't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all.

Just a friendly reminder that if you are shipping something, either 1: Use UPS or 2: Be sure to have plenty of insurance.

Now I am forced to wait for the package to be sent BACK to West Palm Beach, then get sent AGAIN to my location, (*Hopefully using a different form of shipping) and that is IF no one signs for the damn thing in Missouri!!!!

I swear, if something were to go smoothly for me, I would have a freakin' heart attack!!!!

Oh, and please allow me to add that "What goes around, comes around". I made this very mistake last week sending a Money order back to someone. So, I guess that saying is totally correct. I just hate that I just now thought about that.
Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

I always buy insurance for expensive items. And I write the label myself. Why was the postal service writing the address?
Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Umm, if you ship anything important, use UPS, FedEx, or USPS Express Mail.

This WAS USPS Express Mail!!!!

Not sure why THEY had the job of writing the address, maybe they did it by computer and F*#$ED up at that point. Details still flowing in! Will keep you updated.

And if you UPS, make sure the package requires a signature. Lately, UPS has left a few 1000$+ packages sitting on my porch. They didn't even ring the doorbell (I was home), they always just leave the stuff on the porch and drive off.

Yes, UPS does that alot. I have left work to go get packages off my porch. Just make sure you either call to arrange to actually be there so they don't try 3 times and then keep it at the warehouse. God forbid you have to go there to pick it up for some reason. That may be the 10th ring of Hell.

I was there one day. There were two registers open, a line out the door, but the one register was not taking customers. Why? Cause he was there for sending packages only! And the other person, well, he was helping people pick up...by taking the name, looking in the computer, and then going into THE GIANT WAREHOUSE to find it himself. Even though throughout the time I was there at least 5 people came in and just stood around. And not ONE person came to drop off a package the whole time, so that other guy just stood there doing nothing. >:(

Best time to go to UPS is before 8PM... no waiting. I get a lot of UPS slips on my door for 'delivery attempt' I call UPS (locally) give them my information and they tell me if that route truck is in or when it will be in and go get the package. Personally, I use Fed Ex. I have never (knock on wood) had a problem with them. I could tell some 'ugly' stories of experiences I've had with UPS.:S

You're lucky, at least you're probably going to get your package.

USPS sucks.

A few monthes ago, craichead and I got a note in our mailbox of an attempt to deliver a certified package.

1) Craichead took the note to the post office, tried to claim the package. They couldn't find it, told us they'd call us back. They never called back.

2) The next day, craichead calls the USPS trying to find the letter. They can't find it. They tell her they'll call us back, they never called back.

3) The following day, I calls the USPS trying to find the letter. They can't find it. They tell me they'll call me back, they never called back.

4) The next day, craichead calls the USPS trying to find the letter. They can't find it. They tell her they'll call us back, they never called back.

5) Then, I get frustrated, and call asking for the manager. She says she'll look into it, and cal me back. She called me back, but told me she couldnt' find it.

6) The next day, Craichead calls the manager. The manager says she still can't find it, and she'll continue to look into it and call her back. The manager called back, but told craichead she couldnt' find it.

After a few more days of the same thing, the USPS left a note in our mailbox saying the package had been returned to sender, because we never claimed it.

We never found out who sent the certified package. Tracking info on USPS.gov only had one line, saying "package returned due to occupant not home".

Moral of this story, is do not EVER use USPS for sending anything important, even if you pay for upgraded services. Always use UPS or FED-EX.

You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I've had to do that before. Stood in line for 45 minutes, gave the guy my ticket to go get the package, waited 30 minutes for him to look for it, then he came back and told me that the truck it was coming back on wasn't back yet! (It was 9:15 at night!).>:(

I went to go pick something up at Fed-Ex just before christmas and it was great. Walked in, no wait, gave the guy the tracking #, showed him my ID, and was out in 5 minutes.

Dude as i am sure you already know.
The USPS sucks ass.
We never use them even if they are much cheaper then UPS, and FedEx. You get what you pay for.

FYI- Even if you ship via UPS if you do not get additional insurance they will only insure it for 100 bucks.

IIRC, they aren't cheaper than either UPS or Fed-Ex, they're much more expensive.
