I particulary like:

"1994 - A leader known only as Roth takes over the Irish Republican Army, transforming it from a terrorist organization into a tax-deferred retirement savings plan."
Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Sorry but I dont find that very funny. Perhaps they could do something similar on New York and belittle the tragic loss of life there.

Ironic that the scene of America's worst terrorist atrocity is one of the largest supporters of a terrorist organisation respsonsible for many deaths in Northern Ireland and the UK.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Ya know, I think the point at which a people, any group of people, can find humor in themselves and their stereotypes and the things which made them 'less' to other groups of people, is the point at which they take back their identity and their pride and their power from those who or that which would rob them of it.

It's like Jewish comedians making fun of their stereotypes or black people reclaiming the n-word for themselves.

I'm of Irish descent and damn proud of it. And that was funny.

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

Thank you.

I love when comedians make fun of Americans. I also laugh when they make fun of Poles, Germans, or Russians (my heritage). I try not to take anything too seriously if I don't have to.

Know any one who was murdered by the IRA??

I knew 2 people who lost there lives to the IRA, not to mention being shot at whilst patrolling in the Province.

The majority of the timline was inoffensive and funny, but to refer to the murder of someone in such a way is offensive.

Or would you find it just as funny if they ran a timeline for the US and put

"911 - Twin towers collapse after being hit by planes, who knew that Muslims were funny enough to bring the house down"

OK.

I am truly sorry for your loss, and it's obvious that one comment really struck a nerve with you.

However, this was posted here with humor in mind (and I'm glad to see that you do find humor in it), so please try not to take it personally.

Unfortunately, violence - random and targeted - is a fact of life for many parts of the world, including this one. Humor can be a very effective coping mechanism.

Murdered by which IRA? The one my grandfather's brother served in to help free his country? Don't forget that the IRA has changed over the years and it's start was exactly the same as the American Revolutionary Army.

While in my short time in Ireland I got a chance to see an IRA and ULF bombing, met people that were gimped by the IRA, etc. From what I could tell, most in the South are tired of it.

All that said. I found it funny :o:D:ph34r:

I sent the link to a friends Dad that grew up in Cork...I'll let ya know what he thinks as well.

Lighten up.
