jumpergirl 0 #1 March 19, 2005 I had a trail version of Quickbooks. I used it, had everything set up in it, then it tells me I have to register it in order to continue using it. Now I can't even get into it to get my information. I know it's a very expensive program. Does anyone have an extra "spot" that I can buy? I don't know the correct terminology. You know some software programs allow X number of users, so you can use the key code X number of times. I'd MUCH appreciate it!! I think it's single use unless there is some way around it that I don't know about. If you have any questions about the program if you do get it up and working though, just send me a pm. We have it at my work too. We have one copy that allows 5 different users. We did just go through hell trying to re-register it after upgrading computers and going from Win98 to Winxp. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! At my old job the accouting software was a frickin DOS based program called American Fundware. When i started my new job 6 weeks ago and learned quickbooks i couldn't believe how awesome it was. Totally easy program. Whoever invented it is my hero!! ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! That's why I wanted it on my computer at home so I could do my own stuff with it. Unfortunately, I can't use it now. I've looked at the templates that Microsoft Office has on their website but there isn't anything (that I saw) that will allow me to invoice and have it automatically taken out of the inventory like Quickbooks does. Skymama, do you know off the top of your head how much a single use is? I may have to go that route if I want to be professional looking! I bought a copy of QB Basic last fall on buy.com it had the best price online. You can try using shopzilla.com and seeing what comes up for storefronts and prices. You should be able to get to the data files: c:\program files\intuit\quickbooks pro(change pro to your version)\ Here you will find a file named 'your company.qbw' (change 'your company' to your company). This is the data file you'll need. Sam's Club had the best prices on Quickbooks when I got my copy. If you get a box with a rebate, you just need to find a copy of an older version of quickbooks to copy the CD or whatever else the rebate asks for to get $100 back.----- ~~~Michael
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
