I love my job, I have the whole summer off. My plan is once again to head up to SDC and do SummerFest, then head over to WFFC:)

What are the requirements to be a registered skydiver at the convention?

To be registered as a "skydiver" with that wristband you need to have at least 50 current freefall skydives. This does not require a "license" but expect some additional scutiny at registration if you don't. These 50 freefalls must be current and properly logged!
USPA licenses are encouraged.
This policy was established because of those outside the US not having jump numbers identical to USPA for a particular license. 50 freefalls is about the same experience as a USPA "B" license holder and what we feel is enought experience to be in the air with a number of jumpers.
Those with fewer than 50 freefalls must register as a "student" skydiver and must jump under the supervision of the student training vendor, and pay whatever they are charging.
We encourage lower experienced jumpers to seek out the Convention Load Organizers in Tent 3 for a few jumps to provide an orientation.

Bring lots and lots of money. You can never have enough.

If you have the 50 skydives, why not get your B license? If you don't have that license in hand, make sure your log book is done correct, and it also helps if there is someone who has a JM rating with you when you are checking in.

Nuff, with the excuses....., pack your camp gear
and prepare to make moves... I wish I could go,
unfortunatley I'll be out of the country. Your so
lucky... However, I suggest reading the document
in the Safety board (I think thats where its at) on
ethical boogie practice and the safety aspects of
jumping at boogies. (Landing can get overwhelming
at times) so your best bet is to make sure you go
prepared and in a cool state of mind.

P.S. - Bring your digi, cause I want pictures damnit! :P

This summer I might hit LP before heading to SDC

KEWL.... You could finally get to jump with me and see how fast I fall;)

LP is the whole last week of July and ends on the 1st of Aug.. then you have a few days to drive over to IL and hit WFFC.. The airplanes form Skydive AZ leave Lost Prairie and go on to WFFC.

Edited to Add.

LP requires an A license...and you can bang out just as many jumps as you can stand there...

Not at the new location for WFFC. Lots and lots of outs.

Bryan: a few thousand should cover you. Doing the camping thing is what lots of us do.

Amazon, LP dates are the same as SummerFest :(

what is lots??

like range of $500-$1000 or more

Depends on how many jumps you want to do and what specialty jumps. I would recommend at least 500, I usually spend about 750 at the convention. I do not do a ton of jumps there however, I'm usually too hung over everyday.:S

You are welcome, and since I'm a LO there, all you have to do is buy me a beer to show your thanks. Oh, and make a skydive with me;)

Our old pilot at San Marcos, Heath Haley, and he went to work at Eloy a few weeks back. He got checked out on the skyvan and I'm waiting to see when they send him out on the circuit. Can't wait to run into that guy in the skyvan on a boogie circuit. ......waiting.....
