Where did it go?

Recommended Posts

>So what happens if you have it running and get out?

It refuses to lock the door so you can't lock yourself out (if you leave the transponder in the car.) The engine doesn't run when you stop, but it does stay 'on' and in park.

If you get out with it in your pocket, it shuts down and locks the doors eventually (after you're like 20 feet away for more than X seconds.)

>Does it open the door as well?

Yeah, you just touch the door handle and if it senses the transponder it unlocks.

Don't planes have transponders for purposes of locating them or something?

Yes, they relay a 4 digit code so Air Traffic Control can identify a specific aircraft.

ATC most times gives you a code when you contact them. You dial it in and they know which little blip is you.

Can you lock the car while you are in it for security?

And how do you like the thing anyway....I am giving up on the BWM...I have this sudden social conscience thing and am looking at American made or Hybrid....If there was an American Hybrid I would have a much easier choice.

Wow SC goes away and I start hugging trees!!!!:o

HEY! You stay off-topic dammit! ;):D:D

I rode in BillVon and Amy's other electric car. I asked Amy if it had any "go" and she floored it. These light bars light up on either side of the speedo and I was pretty sure we were going to do that doppler light thing that the Millenium Falcon did. It was quick.

And you can't help but feel superior to the other greenhouse gas spewing SUV pigs while in it.

Like me.

I would assume that once the car is started, the doors lock automatically. At least that's the way it works in my car...

What about at a stop light?

Geeze I need SC back.[:/]

Pretty sure Ford has a hybrid out

Yup, the Escape. It's a pretty nice ride. I took a look at one at the local dealership.

I'd own a hybrid in a cold minute if I could still put all my audio gear in it.[:/]

Sure. Regular lock buttons and all.

>And how do you like the thing anyway....

Only had it for a week. I like it a lot. I haven't taken it apart yet; that's next.

One of the Toyota hybrids will be made in the US within a year or so. They're bidding now on locations for the factory.

Right where you left it. Next time, remember where you leave those forums! No one likes it when you lose them on us.

Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Ron, seriously look at Honda. Its about 80-90% domestically made parts right now. Thats better then the vast majority of Fords. The Honda Accord Hybrid will probally be my trade in choice in a few years with a hybrid SUV for the girl.
