freeflir29 0 #1 March 24, 2005 They can be kinda noisy sometimes. Especially this time of year........all that gobbling and strutting. Just snapped these in my back yard. There are MANY days I'm glad that I DON'T live in the city.

jimmytavino 16 #6 March 25, 2005 very nice...... they must be baby turkeys... where are the REAL gobblers???... where do you live 29?? it seems that the wild turkey is making a comeback in many many places
freeflir29 0 #7 March 25, 2005 Quotethey must be baby turkeys... There's a group of 12 that pretty much live here. They mill around the pastures every day. Only one BIG gobbler. He has a LARGE beard. 12+ inches easy. 3-4 young ones.......they just have short beards...maybe 3-4 inches. A Jake or two and the rest are hens. They are just like the deer .......mill around......don't pay much attention to people. I laughed the other day.......I was pulling in the Driveway and the flock was on one side and the big gobbler on the other. Of course the gobbler had to protect his women so he took off across the driveway RIGHT in front of my car. Gobbling like crazy the whole way. Nature is so cool! freeflir29 0 #10 March 25, 2005 That would REALLY suck! I came all too close to hitting a pheasant on my motorcycle once. An XR250L which has no windshield! That would have hurt!
flyangel2 2 #11 March 25, 2005 God damn it, I'm old. Stop posting such small pictures. I refuse to open any more of your pictures till you make them biggerMay your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. happythoughts 0 #12 March 25, 2005 Cool pics. It is amazing what a little peace and quiet can do for your soul. I've got 4 or 5 that come up the road in the morning, but they don't hang around for pics. They probably have the correct suspicion that my neighbors are more interested in picnic than pictures. freeflir29 0 #13 March 25, 2005 Quotebut they don't hang around for pics. Ever since they started building all these damn houses around here and my parents penned up their dogs this place is like a wildlife sanctuary. I'd have to shoo those turkeys and the deer away with a broom to get them out of here.
