I'm super confident around others and project good self-esteem, but in some areas I'm really hard on myself, and have a hard believing I deserve what I deserve. Like I'm less important. Sheenster303 0 #6 March 23, 2005 In my mind, I believe my self-esteem is where it should be, but to other people, they think my self-esteem is really low. They say I don't think very highly of myself, but when I see myself in the mirror I see what I see and accept it.I'm so funny I crack my head open! Rebecca 0 #9 March 23, 2005 QuoteQuote Mine is low. I'll NEVER understand that one. There is CERTAINLY no reason for it. Yeah, I know, but knowing doesn't always help. I don't have any problem with how I look or my mad social skillz, I just wish that (superficial) confidence would translate better into other areas, like my professional life, and my personal sense of worth. Make sense? Hey, it's all good - at least I can be honest with myself. Having higher self-esteem than you really rate is always better. Even if some people try to knock you down, more people than that will believe you're right to think highly of yourself. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? SarahC07 0 #11 March 23, 2005 I agree, the poll is a little confusing... Better than it should be = overly confident (high self esteem) Where it should be = just right/normal Worse than it should be = overly critical (low self esteem) That is how I would of understood the poll... oh well... Mine will get better when I get a good dental plan. 15 years ago I opened a bottle with my teeth, and created a chip-gap. I stopped smiling with my teeth. About 5 years ago I got in a fight with a baseball bat (don't do it, you'll lose every time.) I pretty much stopped smiling. To me, my appearance is almost everything. It's hard to make a good first impression when you look like "Those farmers". EDIT: 4 years ago, just before I came back to the sport. I got re-current and my A signed with stitches in my mouth. lawrocket 3 #15 March 23, 2005 I'm not a good looking dude. Pink skin, bad skin, spare tire. Tending more towards skinny or fat, but never the ideal medium. Personality wise, I'm not to engaging. A loner. I think I'm ugly and unsophisticated. And I still think I have a highly elevated sense of self esteem. So I picked "Better than it should be." My wife is hotter than your wife.
