Power outage + Elevators =

I had just got off work and I had just stepped into the elevator, the doors close and it just starts to go down and BAM!! I was thinking, oh shit what do I do. Just as it starts to get weird the power came back on.

Has this happened to anyone else?

As an elevator operator that is my worst nightmare. I hope I never experience it going down and then bam as I bet in my case the lights wouldn't come back on. I just hope everyone gets out in time if it does happen.

Not much you can do but wait for the following:

1) power to come back on

2) Fire Department arriving and opening the doors.

3) Evelvator repair person opening the doors.

Scenario:
The bathroom on your floor is closed for cleaning so you get on the elevator in a semi-emergency state to go down one floor. On the elevator is your manager, the attractive person that you've been hitting on, and the unattractive IT geek who has been hitting on you.

The power goes out, stopping the elevator.
