katzurki 0 #1 April 2, 2005 Since this wonderful country I am living in has yet to be recognized by Paypal / find out about the wonders of money orders and cashiers checks, often my only means of payment to individuals in other countries are bank wire transfer and services like WU. People have been reluctant to give me the necessary information to transfer the funds (a wire transfer costs me only about $10 regardless of the amount; WU transfer is about 10-15% of the amount). I just don't follow the logic. So, if I presumably have a malicious intent, and have obtained your bank account number, what could I possibly do with it? Here is an example: I recently put a sum of money into a mutual fund. I set up the account online and transferred the money directly from my bank account w/o contacting the bank. If you give me your bank account number, I will be happy to demonstrate how that works. "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. katzurki 0 #3 April 2, 2005 I don't get it. Are you saying that in order to transfer funds from an account, all you have to know is that account number? Is there nothing more in the way of authorization?

You are in a tough spot since forgery is a common practice where you reside, and without a functioning system of laws and people who abide by them you have nothing.
