Squeak 17 #1 April 3, 2005 Went to West OZ Blues and Roots Music Festival on Saturday, artists included Jack Johnson Violent Femmes A whole bunch of good Aussie artists John Lee Hooker Jr & Angelique Kidjo She was not the headliner, but she was most cetainly the BEST performer there. Followed by John Lee Hooker Jr & The Hooker Band Angelique had everyone up and jumping, the misuc was awsome and her stage presence is fabulous. If you get a chance to see her live I highly recomend it. Very Cool stuff On the other hand Trailing down towards the bottom of the talent list was Jack Johnson, man that guys music is dull and insipid. there was recently a thread on how "good" his albums are, I didn't even read the thread, 'cause I think he's a very poor mans Ben Harper, but last night as a headline act he put half the audience to sleep. The only ones who seemed to like him were adolescent youthes or persons with immature music tastes (which on are you)You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! marcandalysse 0 #4 April 3, 2005 Her band is excellent! Half of them are Brazilians. She did a great disk called Black Ivory Soul, recorded partly in Brazil.....Highly recommended.
