swoppa 0 #1 February 25, 2009 Hello, Im a packer with around 3000 packjobs, and I always have the same problem while packing without a packing weight... with a packing weight everything is fine. When i try to get the air out of the canopy the lines tend to unstress, especially with new lines. I don't see what I'm doing wrong... i put my knees on just below the slider, tuck my arms under the canopy and let my bodyweight do the rest... any advice?? greets
Genego 2 #2 February 25, 2009 Remember the "Good Old Days" when we could pack without weights? Seriously, don't lie down on the canopy, it can tend to make it slip. Press the air out with your forearms while mummying the canopy to the proper width. A small amount of slack in the lines isn't a problem. Just pull them tight before stowing the lines. And if you pull the container towards you when folding the canopy for the bag it helps to re tension the lines, even if you don't drag the rig while stowing the lines. I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave her and go skydiving.
