Hey man I know how you feel. When I shattered the bridge of my foot I was in a "no load baering" cast for 5 months. CRutches for 5 months.. every month I had to have a new cast put on because they needed x-rays to make sure the tiny fragments were healing in the right spots. Was shattered so bad pins couldn't be used.

But anyways, they told me every month.. "oh you'll be walking next month" so every month I was so pissed off when I left her office. One time I even got a speeding ticket driving to work I was so pissed I didn't get to cast removed.

You'd rather have it healed correctly then take the chance of jackin it up again.

Black?? You guys have black uniforms? Are you recon, or something?

I figured green camouflage was standard. :P

That sucks, Jake. [:/]

Sorry that you are having a hard time, but you want to be fully healed before taking that cast off, right? No need making this a permanent injury. Try to take good care of yourself and do what the doctor says because it has a lot to do with your healing.

Sadly, doctors aren't psychic. They take the cast off depending on how well you, personally, are healing. Is there any reason why your body is not healing as well as you should be? If you take good care of yourself, do what is asked of you, aren't sick or partaking in too many activities that may slow down the healing process (wildly, wildly excessive drinking/partying/jumping/using of arm before you are fully healed may be a stunting the healing process), etc, you tend to heal quicker. Personally, I didn't put any pressure on my leg (not even once), tried to not overdo things while in my cast, and I had my leg cast off earlier than had been predicted. It's different for every person, though.

You'll be ok, sweetie, and at least, it's just one arm. Think of poor Andrea. :( Take care and cheer up!

Make sure it doesn't interfere with the meet at Southport! Schedule it for the Monday after - we can have a Goodbye Cast party on Saturday night.

She says, as if we need an excuse for a party on Saturday night after a meet...

You are seeing a military doctor right? Well there you go.

No disrespect for military doctors, I grew up in a military house, but I have one huge scar on my right ankle thanks to them, and because of their misdiagnosis, I had to have not one, but two surgeries >:(

Jake be careful jumping with the cast. If you have a malfunction, you better be on top of it. Being hurt will slow down your reaction time. Oh and remember, when jumping with an injury, that could lead to another injury. It's good to stay on the ground sometimes, cause if you get hurt some how, you could be out longer. Just something to think about, the sky will always be there.

Well.... some are  but I'm not telling you who.....
Most of them, however, are just poor fools who have to keep fixing peoples that keep using their broked ass wrists instead of learning to let others "take care" of them instead ;) I've been to Raeford... I know that there are cute girls there that are more than "capable" of "helpin ya out."

Seriously though, sorry that you don't get the cast off yet. And the repetative promises of "next time" aren't very nice.
I hope it heals up well!!

Karen
