AndyMan 7 #1 February 18, 2009 Does anyone have any tips for making an Icon look nice? My first attempt was way too bulky under flap 4, and looked terrible. My second attempt probably over comensated, and made a nice top, but wrinkley and puffy bottom. Where should be bulk go? Also, is it just me or does the Icon manual suck? The instructions for toggle settings are just plain wrong, there's nothing at all about the line-stow hesitator loops , and there's nothing about fabric distribution. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. riggerrob 643 #2 February 18, 2009 Most manuals "suck" when trying to describe bulk distribution. When packing Icons, I put more bulk than usual (eg. more than Vector and Mirage G3 and early Javelin). Instead, I put more bulk across the top, similar to: Mirage G4, Reflex and Racer. jerolim 7 #3 February 19, 2009 What I do is to measure free bag from closing loop hole to end of free bag and this is length for s-folding. Usually first fold is just under word "WARNING" on reserve label (I have icons S9 and S8, and smarts 220 and 250 for students). I use wooden packing sticks and molar strap to make it look nice. I also try to have more fabric from PC under bottom flap. And all icons after packing look really great.
