Vallerina 2 #1 April 8, 2005 I performed in my first Hafla last night, and we all had a fantastic time! I danced to a drum solo named Careyoka in Cairo, and the audience clapped and zagarheeted. Right before I stepped out into the audience, I had the butteflies in the stomach. I sat there with Roccio worrying about our costumes, dance, audience, etc. The second I stepped out, my nerves went away, and I just had a blast! Some people were really getting into it, so I fed off of that energy. It's funny, though....some of the most simple and easy moves got the crowd's energy up! The other dancers were incredible, and it was so nice to finally see them perform! Sonya did an incredible job as always. I attached some pics so you can feel like you were there!
