doddy 0 #2 February 7, 2005 Try going for a remidial massage, it hurts at first but by loosening up the muscles (is that right?) it will get better and also a hot pack applied to the area will bring some short lived comfort. ((((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))))))) To make you feel better! A man who views the world at 50, the same as he did when he was 20, has wasted 30 yrs of his life. rehmwa 2 #3 February 7, 2005 Do a search, there's a ton here. I feel your pain. (Actually I feel my pain, but you know what I mean.) ... I doubt it will get better unless you do. But I suspect you knew that.
stuartledden 0 #5 February 7, 2005 Forgot to mention bye the way, this whole thing is my brother's fault 'cos he leant me his sabre 150 which I stupidly jumped- had a shit hard opening which some how broke a finger on my left hand and triggered the sciatica. Lesson learned: If I ever jump a sabre 150 again I'm gonna stick my fingers up my ass!!! Don't forget to pull your stopping ropes!
freakflyer9999 1 #6 February 8, 2005 Try a Chiropractor. I could barely walk when I went. It took about 10 treatments, but I've been relatively pain free for several years. I could probably use another adjustment or two now, but at one time I couldn't walk more than a few minutes without a cane.

Shotgun 1 #8 February 8, 2005 I have had similar pain from a pinched nerve in my neck. I found the most relief from a chiropractor (though it took almost a month of treatment before I started to feel better - and I continued regular treatments for at least a year). Acupuncture and yoga also helped. That kind of pain really sucks because no painkillers seem to help. Good luck...
jonstark 8 #9 February 8, 2005 Put the shower on as hot as you can stand it then bend over while the hot stream is directed at your lower back. Slowly stretch out the area by supporting yourself with the sides of the tub. AHHH! Get used to fighting it, find out what gives you relief and hope that Ibuprofin works for you. That worked the best for me. It took about 10 years to get pretty much over a lower back injury sustained on landing. good luck with your recovery... jon

freakyrat 1 #11 February 9, 2005 Stuart I had this several yars ago and I mean good. My legs hurt so bad down the sides it was hard to jump. I found a good Chiropractor. It took thirteen sessions with heat and electrical stimulation and the strectching table but him and his staff fixed it. I had facet syndrome between L4 and L5 and it was pinching on a nerve. One he got those stetched out a my pains went away. I occasionally go back for some follow up and I'm fine. Also make sure you do some stretching exercises for your lower back. A good Chiropractor or Orthopedic Doctor can give you a list of these exercises. Chirs
masterrig 1 #12 February 9, 2005 I can sympathize, man. I have sciatica as a result of a herniated disc at my L-4. I went to a chiropractor and it didn't work. Went to a back specialist who had me get an MRI. He put me on medication and told me to excersize. When it first hit, I could'nt move in any way, that it didn't hurt. It was like electricity shooting down my right leg. See a doctor! Hope, you find some relief! Chuck
