AggieDave 6 #55 April 13, 2005 QuoteSo, then why do you care if she's an idol for teens? Either you judge her or the parents for kids wanting to dress like her....which is it? If a parent doesn't want their kid to dress like her, they should probably guide her away from idolizing her. It's that simple. WOOOSH! Hear that? You totally missed my point. Basically, after watching you "take the highroad" and point out other people's faults in this forum over the years, I thought I'd turn the mirror around for a second so you could look in it. Why? Because I'm perfect? Hell no, no one is, I'm no where near close, BUT taking the high road and calling others out is really damned annoying when coming from someone who is just like the rest of us.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." lawrocket 3 #56 April 13, 2005 QuoteAnd there you have it. And it's disgusting that the baby has no choice whether he/she will be hawked as a public good to be examined. Sure, I talk about my son a lot and post pictures every now and then, too. Every parent does. But I think her exploitation of her "step-children" and her pending exploitation of this baby is, and will be, disgusting. My wife is hotter than your wife. Slappie 9 #57 April 13, 2005 Spizz Quotefind cures for diseases like HIV/AIDS, Herpes, Cancer When the aliens came the first time they gave us all those cures. I do think the cures or some forms have already been shelved and in some safe somewhere. The drug companies are making mints selling the drugs to help control the diseases. Why cure them? Then they just killed a market they are making billions in... Don't destory the money tree then there is no reason for you to be around. Seriously though, I agree to a degree. I can't stand main stream media and it's facination with the "stars" there are more important things to document and take major notice of. People don't want to see or hear those things. Their lives are filled enough with problems. Like how do I make this months rent? How am I going to feed my kids, put shoes on their feet.. keep them in daycare while I work to pay daycare. etc.. etc.. So they turn on the TV and want to watch some mindless talking head spew garbage about somebody with a fantastic life... It's called escapeism. They just don't want to think about their miserable lives. We as a community (skydivers) are pretty blessed when it comes to material things and educations. So we forget about the people who are living at or below minimum average wage with 2 children. Either single or married raising kids and living that life is fucking tough... Just let the Lousiana redneck be pregnant, flaunt the kids from his former girlfriend for photo ops. Man that's her life.. I could careless. Jealousy is one of the se7en deadly sins... flyingferret 0 #65 April 13, 2005 Yep. She had choosen her path. I don't idolize sports figures either. Justifying her behavior by saying you have seen worse might be the oddest piece of logic I have seen. People should be discerning. PERIOD. It is an attribute modern society lacks. In regards to Andreas comments, I respect them. But I am tired of leaving people alone. QuoteAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke There is no third part 'they' Our society is governed by choices 'we' make. Out television and media has idolized the likes of Britney Spears and then we are surprised that young girls are mothers at 16 and seek out bad company while grown men are attracted to them?! There is no scale to ethics people. Judgement and consequences roll over the entire scope of human behavior. Most people with an convaluted life are there becuase of a decision they never suspected would be make a difference. True role models are the people that transcend that layer. The people that may even deny themselves something because they know youngsters are watching. For the record....this usually does not 'sell' so you won't find these people in the national spotlight. You don't seek out movie/music stars for ethics, you seek them out for talent and vanity.
