Seriously though, I agree to a degree. I can't stand main stream media and it's facination with the "stars" there are more important things to document and take major notice of. People don't want to see or hear those things. Their lives are filled enough with problems. Like how do I make this months rent? How am I going to feed my kids, put shoes on their feet.. keep them in daycare while I work to pay daycare. etc.. etc.. So they turn on the TV and want to watch some mindless talking head spew garbage about somebody with a fantastic life... It's called escapeism. They just don't want to think about their miserable lives.

We as a community (skydivers) are pretty blessed when it comes to material things and educations. So we forget about the people who are living at or below minimum average wage with 2 children. Either single or married raising kids and living that life is fucking tough...

There is no scale to ethics people. Judgement and consequences roll over the entire scope of human behavior. Most people with an convaluted life are there becuase of a decision they never suspected would be make a difference.

True role models are the people that transcend that layer. The people that may even deny themselves something because they know youngsters are watching. For the record....this usually does not 'sell' so you won't find these people in the national spotlight.

You don't seek out movie/music stars for ethics, you seek them out for talent and vanity. Why are you really very surprised to see someone say that you get the same back?
