Brian425 0 #1 April 15, 2005 I know, I know. It's just something I want to try. Not a mechanical bull, I want to try it on a real bull. So where does a guy from NYC go to try it? I get to NC 3 or 4 times a year. Any advice? The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

atsaubrey 0 #6 April 15, 2005 Been there and must say i dont recommend it. Feels like about 20 jumps in one day when you wake up the next day. actually (used to be, not sure if it still works this way) go to a rodeo and tell them you want to ride exhibition and they will usually let you on, but again...awe hell make up your own mind."GOT LEAD?" Brian425 0 #7 April 15, 2005 I'm just curious. I am sure I will be VERY sore the next day. It's just on the list of things to do. You know how that works. Brian425 0 #13 April 15, 2005 Can we get back on topic. This is IMPORTANT!! I mean I need to get this off my list. I've added parasailing to it and I need to keep it manageable. So I want to ride a bull. Like in a rodeo. With Rodeo clowns I want to wear a big belt buckle and a cowboy hat and spurs. Oh hell, maybe I WILL just go to the Village. This is starting to sound wrong. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

Keith 0 #15 April 15, 2005 QuoteCan we get back on topic. This is IMPORTANT!! If it's important, this is probably Not the best place to find your answers. I would suggest googling rodeo associations. They would have the answers you're looking for. My guess, however, is riding a bull isn't like doing a tandem. edited to add: Follow your dream and Good Luck!Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. Brian425 0 #16 April 15, 2005 I really want to try it. I figure the soreness will be up there with the first day motorcrossing in the spring. A car crash. etc. The soreness will pass. I may never do this if I don't do it soon. This age thing is a serious thing. It is relentless. I'll fight it till the end; but, I think I can only hold it at bay so long. mnealtx 0 #17 April 15, 2005 I'd definitely recommend finding a place that hosts rodeos and go there for several weekends before. Talk to the riders and thell them what you want to do and get their recommendations. I've got that block checked off in "the list" too - only took me 6 broken ribs to get it... MikeForsythe 0 #18 April 15, 2005 If you really want to know what it is like to ride a bull I would recommend "rodeo sex", witch is while in the middle of sex, using the wrong name and see if you can hold on for eight seconds! Now that is taking your life into your hands!Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
IMGR2 0 #19 April 15, 2005 If you really want to bring your ass down to Texas where the real bullriders are. I actually jump with a guy that rides bulls. His name is Brian too, much like mine but more like yours. He says he skydives to relax. ROTFLMAO
peregrinerose 0 #20 April 15, 2005 There's a place not too far from Harrisburg that will teach you all the bullriding skills for those of us who have never had any exposure to it. If you end up going this route, let me know, it's something my husband and I both are interested in giving a whirl as well. jimmytavino 16 #22 April 15, 2005 .... whoa... NOW there is a real High adventure sport... Better get a kevlar vest. and some Goooood medical insurance. !!! Just remember,, Getting On a Bull and RIDING it ( 8 seconds. ) are two ENTIRELY different things.... and Oh Yeah.... watch out for the part when you WILL get thrown off... and then I think THAT'S where the BULL starts riding YOU.!!!! rock on brother... only try not to get your neck broken.... And DON"T let that bad boy, " Horn In on your Business"..."Bull riding,,, It's ALOT more dangerous than driving to the DZ" hahahhah
 kingbunky 3 #23 April 15, 2005 good luck and have fun! i think steer wrestling would be more my speed, except i can't ride a horse. i've always wondered about bull riders though. i mean, every other event at a rodeo (calf roping, bronc riding, steer wrestling) has a basis in actual ranch work, although probably moreso in the good old days. bull riding though, you just know that started with a couple of cowboys standing around bragging how they could ride anything, and then one of them got tired of the other's bragging and said 'oh yeah? ah bet y'all cain't ride that thar bull!'"Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart."
