boinky 0 #1 April 16, 2005 Bought a "Chargrilled Shrimp Salad" from Burger King for lunch today. This stuff was in it (see attached pics). What are they thinking? This stuff looks like the weeds that I pick from my yard and throw away. Anyone know what this stuff is?Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts? christelsabine 1 #2 April 16, 2005 It's called Ruccola (sp in English??). Italian salad, strange taste but, not bad. I like it. dudeist skydiver # 3105

Canuck 0 #4 April 16, 2005 QuoteBought a "Chargrilled Shrimp Salad" from Burger King And right there was your mistake. That's why it's called Burger King. If you want shrimp or salad or some combination of the two, pick a place that hasn't just added the green stuff to make their menu look healthier. I only know the red salad leaf, quite strong and bitter taste. If you want to give your mixed green salad a good and special taste, add Ruccola. It's well known over here. dudeist skydiver # 3105

I usually find the red kind in a "spring mix" salad. Found this site in my search, too: http://www.foodsubs.com/Greensld.html More information than you ever wanted to know about salad greens! _Pm__ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)
boinky 0 #7 April 16, 2005 But I don't want "salad greens." I just want a green salad. Iceberg. Ranch dressing. None of this funky "exotic" lettuce for this girl! boinky 0 #9 April 16, 2005 While I'll admit that I might be considered "boring" because of some of my food choices, I am being "schooled" in ways to make up for it. Brigitte36 0 #12 April 18, 2005 I agree. Iceberg has no nutritional or taste value whatsoever. REAL salads have real greens.
boinky 0 #13 April 18, 2005 QuoteREAL salads have real greens. These were red, green and frilly. If that is what "real greens" are...I think I'll pass.
