Team Building Activities--got any ideas?

Recommended Posts

So my manager wants to take the department out for a team building activity. Basically we would all leave work early one day and go do something together. My idea to go skydiving was shot down, even after I offered to pack for everyone! B|:)

So does anyone have any ideas? We were kind of thinking like, go bowling, play whirlyball goto an arcade like place such as GameWorks.
We really want to do something fun, but are having a hard time thinking of things.

Although I've never done it, it sounds like maybe playing close-range paintball -- your boss as one team, vs. everyone else -- would be in order.

God, but I hate employers who think that retreats and kiddie-camp activities build better workers. Tell him to just hand out raises.

My department did bowling last week and had a great time (and our out-of-office events are often pretty awkward). Depending on your budget, maybe you could even get your boss to spring for bowling shirts for the team (check out www.bowlingshirt.com for some great shirts!).

Go carts are always fun, throw in some beer and you will have a great time!:P

Rockclimbing....helps build trust

I like that idea. And there is a gym close to our office building. I have been wanting to do that forever, I have trying to go climbing all winter with a group of friends but have't been able to meet up with them yet.
