My riggers all charge extra for a main inspection, but if you have a specific question like the O.P. has they will gladly help. brain fart on my part. I forgot the OP was about the main's pc. I was thinking about the harness. When I get my repack, my rigger also inspects the harness thouroughly and lets me know of any potential problems. Though he didn't have to check the main, on one pack job, he found a very serious problem with the 3 ring loop, which led to a new set of risers. And with out so much of a basic understanding how it works or what the fuck your doing in rigging your gear the right way you went out and jumped it assuming everything was done right......Till it failed to do so and then you assume that it had to be something that "fell out" and not your fucked up'ed rigging work. If you continue down this path & way of NOT THINKING!thinking you will be dead one day! A lot of way more experianced people have died from a simple "little" mistake in rigging, read up on Patrick De Gayardon's death for one example, there are many more to choose from. Dooooood (Marc/op).... WHEN EVER YOU ARE ADDING or TAKEN AWAY COMPONETS TO "GEAR"... GET WITH A RIGGER BEFORE YOU JUMP IT OR SOMEONE ELSE DOES!!!!!.... The life you SAVE may be your own!!! all caps for a REASON..... To live!!!! Glad that you caught that anyway! YOU did in fact just save your life... and possibly others in the AIR around you! GOOD EYES! a quik BUT thorough gear and componet check during packing of a main for the next jump is ALAYS the best idea!
