GogglesnTeeth 6 #1 April 20, 2005 Ok, so here is my rant! I work at a Fox television station in Fort Myers, Florida. One of the contestants still in the running is from here... you know her as Vonzell Solomon. How is it that a TV show such as this monopolizes our newscast and news coverage nearly every single night??? Coverage of a television show on your own channel isn't news, it's promotion, yet it fills at least 10 to 15 minutes nightly of our local one hour newscast. I'm not a fan of the show anyway, or of reality television in general. I believe it shows lack of creativity from the television networks that produce this mind numbing dribble. So, if you agree with my rant, or don't like Vonzell, feel free to call in and vote for any other contestant on the program, and maybe that will relieve some of my suffering.... Yes, it is true, I have a few issues about being back in the news business. I still do my job to the best of my abilities on a daily basis till I manage to get out of this industry. (yes, I have several plans on how to do that, just no money right now to get started getting out.) Everyone at work also knows (and I'm not the only one) about how I feel about the show known as "American Idol." Several others here question if a reality tv show truely deserves the "news" coverage it gets. I'm not super worried about anyone I work with reading this. If they do, I will be more impressed that they took that much time to find this place to see what I was up to. Cheers!!! sum1mom 0 #9 April 20, 2005 I hate to go against the grain here, but - I will Tuesday nites are reserved for ironing and Idol. It's fun to watch these guys face each challenge. Vonzell (sp) is a really fun performer and has a great deal of appeal. She doesn't have the sickening cheeze factor that a couple of these other guys are getting away with. I don't vote - I do laundry and watch the show and guess who's next to go home. I don't think she will be....so, you will be seeing a little more about her at your network next week.
