Without Nicotine! :)
Totally woke up in a good mood this morning knowing it's been half a year since my last cigarette.

I no longer have cravings and no longer feel like someone has taken a cheese grater to my lungs the morning after going out on a large one. Very rarely am I dead pleased with myself, but this is one of those times!

Just wanted to share... Thanks for listening and to those who have supported me!

I'e never smoked but I know so many people who have and managed to quit. Now they can't even stand the smell of cigarette smoke. I think it is so funny how they have totally changed.

Oh, yeah, I'm one of those. Quit 10 years ago, and I can't even go to smokey bar anymore. Reformed Smokers - we are the worst!

(Guess I should mention I live on Tobacco Road, for those of you who live in states where bars aren't smokey anymore...)

:)
Congratulations, Yoink! Keep breathin' easy...

Quite a few people have asked me that now, so I'll post a reply I made to one of them. Maybe it'l help some people! :)
As to how I did it, dz.com really helped me out, see here:

http://www.dropzone.com/...rum.cgi?post=1310640

Just putting it in writing so I could look at it when I really wanted a smoke and remind myself of how bad I felt was a good coping strategy.
I also posted that to all of my close mates and they were fantastic in helping. I lost count of the times I'd call someone at a really radom time and say "I'm really wanting a smoke! Just talk about something for 10 minutes wil ya and take my mind off it!"

getting over each one of those short periods of wanting a tab got easier and easier that way...

I also changed my drinking habits. I associated smoking with drinking lager, so switched to drinking more fizzy water or bitter. That was dead useful too..

I guess those are the 3 big things that helped me, but of course being too ill to even think about smoking for the first 4 days was kinda useful too! [Wink][Laugh]

If I can be any help, just let me know!

Take it easy.

good luck to anyone else who is trying! :)
