freeflir29 0 #1 April 18, 2005 As promised..........I have High Speed internet in my room. No SAT TV yet though. That's coming soon I guess. I need the LAN more than the TV anyway. So.......not a whole lot going on here. Haven't even been shot at yet. I'm sure that will change within a few trips to the red zone. Anyway.........It's hot here and I am sunburned after spending about 5 hours today outside carrying 50+ lbs of gear. My back is killing me. So far I have gotten to see the embassy which is in Saddam's former palace. Pretty cool building. The Al Rasheed hotel which was fairly famous for getting shot up on a semi regular basis. The famous "Crossed Sabres" which is a memorial to the fallen Iraqi soldiers of the Iran/Iraq war. I'll get to see a lot more soon. Ohhh...........and I see you slackers have only put up 153 new posts in Bonfire since I last signed in several days ago. SLACKERS!

Rebecca 0 #8 April 18, 2005 Wow. Look out Baghdad! Hey, spread some good will and sheep appreciation while you're there, OK? (Wait 'til they get a load of Clay!) It's weird. Your posts from there look the same as your posts from the US, yet it feels different knowing the climate you're in. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? Hopefully I can find a packet 8 phone soon though. Unfortunately, the "good" electronics store just down the road was put "Off limits" today. I may have to wait for someone to send me one. Guest #17 April 18, 2005 Hmmm....not many sheep there - bet you'll have to switch to goats for the duration... Anyway, congrats, and don't get complacent. Remember that the rules are a lot different from your last gig, and don't think that you don't have to re-learn some stuff. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." boinky 0 #25 April 18, 2005 Recently, I've become quite familiar with the little "Customs Declaration" forms that the USPS makes me fill out on packages. I'm pretty sure I can't list sheep under "quantity and detailed description of contents," so some creativity might be in order here. Of course, then they ask if there is anything "hazardous, flammable, perishable, etc." I'm pretty sure live sheep qualify for at least 2 out of 3 categories. Who KNOWS how long that stuff sits before it gets sent on overseas? Post or PM an address and I'll see what I can do for you.Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts?
