eeneR 3 #17 April 19, 2005 Ok...Warning to Yahoo users...It turns out that the will and can delete your account for what ever reason they feel needed. I am still waiting to get more information from them as to why my account is gone, as right now they are just saying it doesnt exist, which duh I know that...that is why im complaining. I have had that account for at least 5 years. Some of the checking around I have done turns up that im not the only person in the last couple of months to suddenly have an account deleted. Unless I violatoed some obscure rule in the TOS that i have no clue about, I have no idea why my account was deleted. Word of advice....Dont use Yahoo as your primary email account And anyone that I used to talk to on Yahoo...If I havent added you please drop me a PM I tried to get most of the people I still had access to add, back on my list. eeneR 3 #20 April 20, 2005 BTW I talked to them on the phone last night.... Yea what a piece of work....Customer support is nil. All they could say is I never existed ever. They have no record at all, whichs she said it it had been deleted it should show that. Which tells me that the system totally puked. IF they would go to the back up from Sat night it would show. She would not transfer me to support and said I had to go thru email, which is a joke. So I would highly recommend those of you who use Yahoo as a primary email addy to think twice about it. Thank god I dont, but that had been my primary IM contact account for a good 5 years. Shotgun 1 #21 April 20, 2005 That really sucks... I've had a mail account with them ever since they started Yahoo Mail, and I've never had a problem with it. I started a second account with them a couple of years ago, using their premium service, and I have been using that one as my primary mail account. When I first got the premium account they were having some server problems. It took me a little while to figure out who to contact, but once I did (and sent them the info showing which servers were having trouble) they fixed it pretty fast. Of course, you just reminded me that I should really be backing up everything to my hard drive (I'm bad about that!) It's probably a bad idea to use any free web-based email as your primary account (unless there is nothing important in there), but I feel a little more comfortable about it since I am paying for the service (they do at least have some obligation to me, whereas they don't with the free service). My trillian is set to auto login to my accounts...it failed when i got home from work. for some reason about 20 min ago I decided to try to re-create my account, it failed saying it existed??? Im like huh...so I tried logging in again...and it worked!!!! my mail was there too. Well only up till sunday when it went poof... I have not rec'd a message from them about fixing it.
