JohnRich 4 #28 April 22, 2005 More photos: Hike2: Presa Canyon, about two miles north of the Rio Grande, at a fork in the road hike. Picto01: These are called "red linear" drawings by the archeologists. I just call them stick figures. At first glance, it's gibberish, but it's actually a very interesting scene. The three figures on the right have a woman giving birth in the middle, with assistants holding her hands on both sides. On the right are the men, sitting and watching the birth, many with erect phalluses, symbolizing fertility. Picto06: Three deer a-leaping, some with portions missing where rock has flaked off the wall. Picto12s: a nice large shaman, but it's hard to tell because it is so faded.
