Jesus I'm so f*#king annoyed....

Recommended Posts

So, I am setting up my new Optic Illusion with dig stills and the PC120. I decide to wire my bite switch first. I have the conceptus switch with the leads on one end that go to a female 3/32 port on the inside of the helmet. Then a double male 3/32 from the camera to the port, both 90 degrees. I tested all the connections before I soldered it all together and it worked good for the most part. It would get all shot happy for some reason, but I figured it was because I was holding the last pair of wire on the plug right at the camera.

I bit on the switch and it worked like it was supposed to. So I soldered it all together. Plugged it in and it went apeshit.....firing like crazy. So I figured that I got too hot at one of the 90 plugs. Went back to the store and got some more plugs. Came home and redid them with that fancy schmancy Cold Heat iron. Which by the way, is a fucking pain in the ass to use on small items, but keeps the heat at bay. I plugged it back in and wouldn't ya know it....same goddamn thing.........clicky click click. Wouldn't stop. I'm not sure what was more annoying.... redoing something not only to have it not work....or erasing a million pics off my flashcard.

So here is where I really get mad. I figure, hey, I'm not a dumbass....I know I did this right... something else is wrong. I plug it back in and bite the switch a bunch of times and the constant shooting goes away. So I'm thinking....... no... it couldn't be..... I take the switch and bend it back and forth lengthwise...and sure as shit....the goddamn thing is fucking broke. Broke right out of the bag. Shorted out inside, or bad connection. If I knew I wasn't going to get taken care of by Conceptus, I would have smashed the fucking switch with a 10lb maul for good measure.

I wasted 3 hours of my life with this crap. GRrrrrrrr.....>:(
