cvfd1399 0 #1 April 25, 2005 I have a arched kitchen window that needs replacing It is 2 pieces of glass seperated by some metal between them to make it look like there is 5 pieces instead of one.. The glass that is on the indside of the house is cracked. I took off the metal molding around the inside window. I am now trying to get the glass out so I can get a replacemnet piece cut. I dont think it is gas filled, and if it was the gas leaked out due to the crack anyways. My problem is that there is some sort of silicone or something holding the window in. Is it possible to get that to seperate before the window breaks? I dont want to replace the whole unit, just the one side of the glass and ideas? cvfd1399 0 #4 April 25, 2005 NO lol but I did realize that the putty is soft and if I break out a little of the window at a time I can use a razer knife to scrape off the black gooey stuff for the replacement window. I have to stop and measure the arch and stuff for the replacement window before I break out too much and cant measure it.
