DJL 235 #1 April 25, 2005 The story was prompted by the Scion thread. My roommate works at Hudson Trail on the side. A youngish yuppie couple was in there looking for a rack for their Grand Cherokee. As my roommate showed them the instock equipement and started explaining what was in the Thule line the wife kept quipping about how the in-stock rack that would fit only a Liberty was really what they wanted...and gee they should have gotten a Liberty and dada-dada-Liberty-blah-blah. Finallly, the guy turns to his wife and yells loud enough to be heard from one side of the store to the other, "LIBERTIES ARE FOR PUSSIES!""I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
AggieDave 6 #2 April 25, 2005 QuoteA youngish yuppie couple So why didn't they get a Liberty then? If he wanted a good rig for the trail he would have bought a CJ, put a 350 conversion in it, Dana 44s, atlas II transfer case and geared it all down so it could climb his garage door.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." rehmwa 2 #3 April 25, 2005 I saw a Liberty the other day with that granola liberal Jeep sticker on the window - "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" You know the one. It was a funny contradiction in that the Liberty isn't really a Jeep either, more like training wheels or a practice vehicle. I'm thinking they were in denial. (One of my teammates drives a Liberty - it's a standing joke) ... I'm constantly telling him it's a wannabe SUV and if he was really a man, he'd drive a real SUV. I'm surprised I still work here ... DJL 235 #8 April 26, 2005 I have a Grand Cherokee too. I hate it. Too many gimmicks, plastic, and electronics than what I need and not even much power. I wish they had continued the bare-bones Cherokee. It was the ideal SUV, in my opinion."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
