NWFlyer 2 #1 April 28, 2005 The sad/depressing song thread seemed to bring up a lot of songs that were used in movies. Rather than threadjack that one, I'll ask... what do you think are the most memorable uses of songs in movies? One where whenever you hear that song, you think of that scene in that movie... "In Your Eyes" ... John Cusack with the boom box in Say Anything "Tiny Dancer" the scene on the bus in Almost Famous I always hear "Moon River" in Audrey Hepburn's voice in Breakfast at Tiffany's no matter who's singing it."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
GiaKrembs 0 #2 April 28, 2005 Fur Elise, Beethoven - Somewhere in Time (the ultimate love story) After I saw the movie, I taught myself how to play it on the piano! I used to sit for hours at a time playing it. Latest fav: Life will go on, by Chris Isaak - (forget the name of the movie) g Raddest ho this side of Jersey #1 - rest in peace brother Beth lost her cherry and I missed it .... you want access to it, but you don't want to break it. kelel01 1 #12 April 29, 2005 It's "God Only Knows", by the Beach Boys. That is a good one. That whole soundtrack is awesome, actually. I also love every song on the Swingers soundtrack.
The111 1 #13 April 29, 2005 QuoteWhatever that song is from Requiem for a Dream Definitely my first thought. Also the whole soundtrack to ANY Paul Thomas Anderson movie, particularly the "Give Up" scene in Magnolia. And the classical piece (I think it's Adagio For Strings by Samuel Barber) in Platoon. And, I really hate to admit this, but the soundtrack to Titanic. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
kelel01 1 #14 April 29, 2005 I was gonna say Titanic, but I didn't want to get jumped on. What's that song that the string quartet played as the ship was sinking? I can't think of the name, but it's beautiful. Oh, and the opera song on Hannibal is awesome, too.
BillyVance 35 #15 April 29, 2005 QuoteJaws - perhaps the most famous movie song ever. Funny thing, I can hum it... I usually get chills down my back just watching the movie when that music is on. OH SHUT THE FUCK UP! I'm fucking deaf, but not totally deaf! There IS a difference! What the hell, I enjoyed The Blues Brothers' music in the movie. That's one of the best musical/action movies ever made, IMO... "Stand by your man....", "You, you, you..." not to mention a whole treasure trove of one-liners and cracks...
