Sabre 150 or Nitron 150?

Recommended Posts

People will be curious as to why these two? Is it that you have the option to buy one or the other now? SInce they are both probably used, it is reasonable to ask how many jumps on each, and the price. The Nitron is certainly a more modern design, and I'd guess would be a better overall canopy.

1) If you mean a Sabre 1, I wouldn't recommend it. Sabre 2's are pretty good canopies though.

2) The Nitron is a bit higher performance than a Sabre 2. The Sabre 2/Pilot/Safire 2 are all good intermediate canopies.

3) Don't downsize more than one size step or one performance step at a time. For example:

Spectre 170
Spectre 150
Pilot 150

would be a good progression, but

Spectre 170
Sabre2 150
Nitro 135

wouldn't be as good.

Most of my jumps are on a Sabre 170 and I've had a few on a Nitron 150. I don't want to to any smaller than a 150. Ultimately, I would like to see if anybody has flown the nitron and the sabre2 and has any input as to which they prefer. I have a couple of jumps on a stiletto 170 but I prefer the non elliptical.
