Zeemax 0 #1 May 3, 2005 Ok... i've aquired a couple of flat screen monitors which are now doing nothing but gather dust in the corner. Essentially what i want to do is run them as TV's. Is there a cheap way of taking a TV tuner output (will come out as a Scart connection) and transfer it into a monitor cable. I know feck all about this (clearly) so any help and witty quips will be most gratefully received. Oh, i'm not adversed to a bit of soldering if its needed.Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
Remster 30 #2 May 3, 2005 Quotewill come out as a Scart connection See, you lost 90% of the people here... SCART is pretty much a UK only (maybe some of europe) connector.... I'D hit Radio Shack or a similar store to see if they have a SCART to SVGA connector.Remster

Travman 6 #6 May 4, 2005 Its not as simple as making a cable with the correct pin outs. You need a scan converter. A TV draws pictures differently to a monitor so the signal is different. Some monitors do have inbuilt scan converters and you can plug RGB signals straight into them. The cable in the link posted above does have a scan converter built in, hence why it is quite expensive.
