Bud Extra - tried it?

Have you tried Bud Extra yet? Nicknamed "B-to-the-E," it's Bud with caffeine, guarana, ginseng, and natural flavors. Kinda like spilling a Red Bull in your beer - or - a beer in your Red Bull. And that's exactly what it tastes like too.

What I saw only came in containers of 4 cans, each about the size of a Red Bull can (and at imported beer prices ).

Yeah I have tried it. I can't say I liked it very much. In fact, it was terrible.

I guess they thought if it was good to have Red Bull & vodka then it must be ok with beer . . . yuck!!

I wouldn't even consider drinking anything named "Bud", "Coors", "Michelob" etc... Sam Adams is about the only American beer I'll drink (except a couple of microbrews). I'd rather drink water than bad beer.

Tasted like the "Sparks" version of the malted energey drinks. I think they are about 6% but hell if I wanted that I would just add vodka to a cheaper non-alcholic version energy drink and bump the % way up...

Drinking those beers are like drinking water. My favorite local beer is Tahoe Red. Nice dark beer with a great taste.

I don't remember seeing Shiner... next time I go to the three story liquor store with the huge walk-in beer fridge, I'll look for it, though. They've got damn near everything (Hi-Times Wine Cellar in Costa Mesa, in case any So-Cal people want to check it out)

I thought of point of drinking BudMillerCoorsBlueRibbon was that the shit was cheap, and after a few cans you wouldn't notice the taste anymore.

Craft beers rule. I live in frigid freaking Pennsylvania, but we have really great craft brewers here (Victory, Troegs, Penn, etc), and we have more bars with cask beers than any other state. You haven't live until you've had Troeg's Hopback Amber Ale on cask.
