Dougiefresh 0 #1 May 4, 2005 Does anyone know the name of this book? It's about a girl who lives in a walled off compound in the near future. Drought has ruined the American economy so everyone is walking to Canada to find work. The compound gets attacked by Pyros, people who take this drug that makes them want to burn stuff. The rest of the story is about the girl's adventure trying to stay alive and establish a community. There's a sequel too, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the book or the author. Anyone? Anyone? never mind, I found it. "Parable of the Sower" by Octavia E.
