I'm telling you, if you missed "The Bachelor" last night, you missed one of the funniest monologues on television in a long time!

Poor, poor Sarah W. didn't get a rose last night and had to leave the show. She thought she was hot shit the entire time she was on the show and whined about Charlie's poor choice after she was rejected. It's not because she is self-centered or anything like that. No! It's because she's beautiful, the poor thing, and people are racist (her word) against beautiful people! Life is SO not fair!

Here's what she said (off the ABC site):

On the ride back to the airport, Sarah W. is upset. She's a way better catch than the other women. His decision sickens her -- it's a big mistake and he's wasted two roses. Charlie feels he tried so hard to make a connection and it didn't happen.

She is going to miss Charlie -- she's spent so much time thinking about him. She believes she's such a sweet girl and a good catch. People are just mean to her because of the way she looks. They hate her because she's beautiful. It's a curse and a blessing to be pretty. If she had been uglier and not as noticeable, maybe things would be different. There's a huge prejudice against beautiful women.

And, she's not THAT pretty. I'm sorry, but beautiful, tanned, tight-body girls are a dime-a-dozen when the cameras start rolling. It's personality, humility, humor and smarts that set you apart.

On looks alone, she's nothing special, and if she keeps thinking she deserves anything for her looks, she's gonna have a tough life.

I wonder when all of those folks who are against the Beautifuls will start burning Barbies in front yards to let people know that they aren't welcome in a town full of Uglies?

"oh she's not that pretty" - I love that when people say that, like they are trying to show how broad minded they are by not acknowledging it. Looks are an aspect of a person - like brains, personality, drive, career, family; what's out of whack isn't that they are a reasonable portion of her identity, just that looks are way out of proportion to how much of a part of her it is.

From the picture she is very pretty. What she is missing here is she was cut 'despite' her being pretty, not because of it. The poor girl is basing every input she gets on her looks, positive or negative are all about her looks. That's more sad than despicable that she doesn't develop other facets to her identity.

She certainly doesn't warrant the negative vibes here, rather just acknowledgment that we can hope she grows up a bit. Some never do - it's too bad.

Or, it's just a freakin' TV show and she was playing an assigned role as one of the actors and this was the line she was given in order to make the viewing audience feel all self-superior to the pretty but otherwise sadly empty shell of a woman.

That can't be it, TV shows aren't at all clever in parcelling out bits of satisfaction in order to keep the audience engaged week after week.
